Why are there so few Free Windows Hosting Providers on the market?

Basically, Windows based sites require a lot more resources (CPU & Memory) and power to run, not to mention the level of management and security the servers require. To give you an idea: It costs a lot more money and time than just setting up a Linux machine and go with the flow. Don’t get me wrong, we do love Linux, but the web is in need for a solid free windows hosting provider. And guess what: We are here to help.

Where’s the catch? Free Webhosting for real?

None, really. Just love, or maybe some karma hunting, if you please. There will be some premium options available, for the more sophisticated users, but there’s no pressure. Pinky swear.

Who’s funding all of this?

Only a small part of our costs (mostly for bandwidth purposes) will be covered by selective ads. And with selective ads we mean NO annoying banner ads on your website, EVER! The panel automatically includes a small reference to freewindowshosting.org and our future projects on your site, but that’s just to help us spread the good news.

To use your own domain name, we require a small once in a lifetime fee of 9,95 USD, which will give you the rights to use our name-servers.

Where are the servers located and what are their specifications?

We will initially start with 1 server per continent. At the moment we reserve 5 TB of premium traffic, 2000 GB for Europe and 3000 GB for the USA.

What’s next? When can I start using my Free Windows Webhosting Account?

The next couple of weeks will be devoted to testing, installing and configuring the servers. We also need to make several adjustments to the hosting panel, so it will do exactly what we want it to do.

At the moment, we are putting a lot of work and time in developing our main site. We work closely together with a usability expert in order to create the perfect balance between selective ads (mostly text links ads) and usability. We rather make a bit less money and deliver a great product, then the other way around. It’s important for us that our users enjoy what we offer them. That’s just the way we look at things.

Any restrictions?

We have an open policy, and are always open to suggestions. There are, however, a few ground rules. Please notice that there’s no room for abuse. NO warez, adult, music or any other illegal files are allowed. We are currently not accepting subscriptions from Asia. Thank you for your understanding.
